Michigan Rep. Thanedar calls for Trump to be impeached over case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia

Source: cbsnews.com

Democratic U.S Rep. Shri Thanedar of Michigan is calling for the impeachment of President Trump over the case of the man who was mistakenly deported to El Salvador.

Thanedar's office said in a release Friday that the Trump administration's "blatant disregard" for a U.S. Supreme Court ruling requiring they facilitate the return of Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia is a "direct defiance of the U.S. Constitution."

"I've seen enough," Thanedar said in a social media post on Thursday. "Trump is not abiding by a Supreme Court ruling. I fully support impeaching him. Now."

The Trump administration said in a court filing last month that an "administrative error" and an "oversight" resulted in Abrego Garcia's deportation from the U.S. to a supermax prison in El Salvador, despite a legal order prohibiting his removal there.

or anything that makes it seem like this was inadvertent. It wasn't. We just don't know the reason why this guy was picked up.

Whatever it was, it was done on purpose. And they refuse to fix their error.

Trumpers. Family was very important to our parents and their siblings/parents -- on both sides. And there were many aunts and uncles -- my Mom 1 of 9, and my Dad 1 of 5. Sadly, there is a schism within our immediate family that is only growing these days. The three Trumpers seem to think we are the deluded and brainwashed ones -- 100%. How do you bridge that?

our lives -- self-perceptionwise, socially and financially. TheTrumpers have had troubles in life for whatever reasons; they are each different, but also the same in that I would describe them as damaged people. And all three have turned to and become evangelical Christians over the years, two of them rabidly so. I think it comes down to self image and self-esteem.

That's it in a nutshell, at least as I see it.

There's no chance as long as they think MAGA voters will stick with them, no matter what, but that could definitely change.

And anyway, the House should do its Constitutional duty, regardless, because that's what they swore to do.

There have been meetings between such republicans to discuss this.

It was at the impetus of the big money on Wall Street, who has lost billions—but meetings, nevertheless.

The thought has entered their minds. Let it please take hold.

there are numerous reasons to impeach...

and many reasons to be seriously concerned... look at the grievances against the King in the Declaration of Independence... trump is acting out many of those... ( a ruler) whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people"

maybe not exactly as George but close enough... some of them....

"He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good."

"He has endeavored to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands."

"He has obstructed the Administration of Justice by refusing his Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary Powers."

"He has (eliminated) a multitude of Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people and eat out their substance."

"He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:"

"For protecting them, by a mock Trial from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:"

"For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world".

"For imposing taxes on us without our consent:"

"For depriving us in many cases, of the benefit of Jury trial:"

"For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offenses:"

"He has plundered our seas, ravaged our coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people."

"He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavored to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes, and conditions."
