Supreme Court to debate if elementary schools may skip parental notice for LGBTQ+ reading

Source: CNN Politics

CNN — For Billy Moges, the fight with a Washington, DC-area school district over the reading of LGBTQ+ books in elementary school is a matter of faith. “We have no hate for anyone,” said Moges, one of the Christian parents who sued Maryland’s largest school district over the policy in a case that will be heard at the Supreme Court. “We’re saying that we, as parents, do not want our children to be exposed to these ideas at this age because they’re not ready for it.”

But for the Montgomery County Public Schools and civil rights groups, giving way to Moges would lead to an administrative nightmare – requiring teachers to foresee and alert parents to any concept discussed in the classroom that might possibly conflict with their religious beliefs.

The Supreme Court will weigh those positions during arguments Tuesday in the most significant religious appeal the justices have confronted in years – a case that sweeps in the struggle over transgender rights, the ability of parents to influence school curriculum and questions about the role of faith in the public sphere. The parents are relying in part on a 1972 precedent in which the Supreme Court allowed Amish families to remove their children from school after the eighth grade, despite a Wisconsin law that required students to remain enrolled until they were 16.

The 6-3 conservative Supreme Court has sided with religious interests in every case it has considered in recent years – allowing a high school football coach to pray on the 50-yard line, permitting taxpayer money to be spent on religious schools and backing a Catholic foster care agency that refused to work with same-sex couples as potential parents.

Pushed to SCOTUS because of it’s history with religious interests.
In the days current climate I’d venture to say MORE of these types of suits will occur in the future

Sad day for all

Fuck the court that court. Soon as we can we need to fix that problem. Biden had no balls, threats that was it didn't even get the discussion started. He had the intelligence and did nothing with it. Played politics as usual. Well here we are in real time. Roberts is no good, he's so fucking dirty it isn't even close to funny. our only way out is to revolt, let the son of a bitch do what ever his cronies tell him to do. Only truth and sacrifice will set us back to anything that seems like normalcy. STAND UP and matter.

He supported term limits, and no doubt would have expanded the Court had Congress passed it and it went to his desk.

Genesis 19 tells the story of Sodom and Gomorrah. God sends two angels to Lot to tell him to leave the city because God is going to destroy the city. The men of the city come to Lot's house and tell Lot to bring out the angels, (appearing in the bodies of men,) so the men of the city may "know them", (have sex with them). When Lot says no, then the men of the city try to break down the door to come in and get them. That's a reading about LGBTQ + issues in my eyes. The hypocrisy is always startling! You'd think we would be used to it by now!

Enough proof for decades that gay, and lesbian couples are lovingly, and properly raising their kids. Love and care are the keys here, not 2 dads, or 2 moms. 😑 🙄

"I mean, we want your kind dead and will happily kick you while you are laying in the gutter dying. We would take your possessions and your family in the name of decency, we would leave you out in the weather as opposed to following our own doctrine, we created gulags that we describe as 'conversion therapy camps' to torture you into submission and hide you all away."

"But, we don't hate you."

“We’re saying that we, as parents, do not want our children to be exposed to these ideas at this age because they’re not ready for it.”

You are saying your children are not ready for the concept of love? They are not ready o see two people who care for each other?

Sounds like a problem on your end, not with the LGBTQA+ community.

(I really wish they would just stop with the faux compassion. They have none when it comes to this topic. They cannot accept us because then they would not have their 'bogeyman'. We are nothing more than the 'hate of the month' target. Heck, anything not pasty white and completely Protestant is a target.)

It’s language designed to soften their appearance to outsiders while also providing a dog whistle to insiders. They all understand this.

They also learn big words to use in conversation for the same reason, but often cannot figure out when to use them.

(Disclosure: I grew up around some of them.)

their children feel ostracized for having to leave the classroom. Quarantined. Ridiculed.

And then turn around and sue the school to ban reading LGBQT literature in order for their children to feel included.

Anything you could possibly teach to anyone has the potential to offend someone's religious beliefs.

Imagine your school still offers Home Economics. Today's class is on making bacon cheeseburgers.

This class will offend:

Seventh-Day Adventists have a religious objection to eating meat at all
Hindus object to beef
Jews and Muslims object to pork
Jews further object to dishes containing both meat and milk
