GOP Rep. Won't Authorize Dems' Trip To El Salvador To See Kilmar Abrego Garcia

Source: Huff Post

Apr 17, 2025, 04:03 PM EDT

A top House Republican is refusing to authorize a Democratic congressional trip to El Salvador to investigate the notorious maximum security prison where President Donald Trump’s administration is paying to hold hundreds of migrants from the United States, including Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a 29-year-old man from Maryland.

“If Democrats care so much about defending this individual, they can use their own personal credit cards—not taxpayers’ money—to virtue-signal to their radical base,” House Homeland Security Committee Chair Mark Green (R-Tenn.) said in a statement on Thursday.

Rep. Delia Ramirez (D-Ill.), a member of the committee, wrote to Green on Wednesday requesting a congressional member delegation (CODEL) to El Salvador as part of the panel’s oversight duties. She’s one of several congressional Democrats seeking to organize an official trip to the country.

“Given that the Administration’s use of CECOT for illegal and unconstitutional deportations is rife with ’administrative errors,” she wrote in a letter, naming the Salvadoran prison, “I urgently request a CODEL to conduct oversight.” Ramirez said the Trump administration deported Abrego Garcia and other migrants without due process, calling the actions “illegal, unconstitutional and inhumane.”

According to Camilla Green, the 59-year-old congressman is living life “deceived” by the affair with what she described as a 32-year-old woman from a Washington-based news organization.

“I want to make others aware of how readily available ‘predators’ are for our husbands. If my story can prevent this tragedy from happening to someone else, I will tell it,” the note reads.

Oh, sweetie, no. You are putting the blame on the wrong person. Your soon to be ex husband was not the victim of a predator. He is a lying, cheating, low down, dirty dog. (Apologies to real dogs, who are much more loyal than this philanderer.)

Sure, his new squeeze showed bad judgment in getting romantically involved with a married man, but I would bet money that he was the one who made advances to her, and that he knew exactly what he was doing at the time. Be as angry at him as you need to be; he deserves it. I hope you have a shark for a lawyer, who will wring every penny possible out of him, so that you can start your new Mark Green free life on a firm footing.

But whatever you, never forget who is really to blame for this: not his new squeeze, but that slimy, scummy weasel that you will soon be well rid of: Mark "he ain't nothing but a hound dog" Green.

that the TRUE costs of his *weekly* trips to Mar-a-Lago each cost around 10 Million one way.........
think about what all the "incidental" cost are for a trip on AFOne..........
Large Military transports flying down and back his cars for him and the secret service detail, his Marine one Helicopters, the advance team sent down each week before each trip, the local police costs, the six? fighter planes and pilots that escort air force one there and back, the staff that stocks the plane with the massive amounts of food stocked on board AF1, the massive Coast Guard presence off shore, and the large staff that is needed on the plane, etc etc etc

Noem didn’t fly down there in her costume on her own dime, either.

This trip is essential. This effing joke of a country needs to learn there are other forces at work and that the silly orange asshole they have been dealing with doesn’t hold all the cards.

Furthermore, they need to understand ALL of these prisoners are returning for their due process.

It will give the prisoners a big morale boost to know the Dem reps are there on their behalf.

Do or say anything that's good or decent, and you're just "virtue signaling".

If they demean and abuse women, they're exalted as "alphas". If they sack the Capitol and shit in the halls, they're "patriots". But do anything good or decent and it's dismissed as "virtue signaling".

... is between people with empathy and people who have none. Reactionaries can't really comprehend why anyone would care about Garcia. They are so unable to understand empathy that they use the term "virtue signaling" to imply that it's just an act. But they say that because that's what they're doing when they find it convenient to pretend they do have empathy.

https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-features/trump-kristi-noem-200-million-dhs-ad-campaign-thanks-president-1235276324/

The ad campaign amounts to an extremely expensive taxpayer-funded propaganda blitz to scare off migrants and to flatter Trump on television. On Friday, Trump’s DHS secretary entertained the CPAC high-roller audience with her account of how Trump orchestrated the whole thing.

Noem said that Trump instructed that he didn’t want to be in the ads himself, telling her: “I want you in the ads, and I want your face in the ads … but I want the first ad, I want you to thank me. I want you to thank me for closing the border.”

She recalled: “I said, ‘Yes, sir, I will thank you for closing the border.’ So if you notice, in that ad, we thanked him for closing the border.”

The Homeland Security Department announced this week that it was launching ads “on radio, broadcast, and digital, in multiple countries and regions in various dialects.”

The idiot is admitting that assisting the unfortunate is a virtue, while at the same time, making virtue a negative behavior. What a shame that so many ignorant pricks are sitting in Congress.

Should we start crowd-funding to do an end run around the emotional cripples in charge of the money we paid in taxes?
