To make all that SS "fraud" real. They'll just use they to claim all the people who aren't able to show up were really fraudulent all along.

I’ll wait for my DUE PROCESS — a letter from the government. And goddam them if they want to communicate with me online without first verifying their identity in person. It works both ways.

11. I don't think this report is accurate
Thu Apr 17, 2025, 11:53 PM

Starting this month, Social Security recipients can no longer verify their identity online.

That is a false statement.

All other reports I searched for state an individual must come in person ONLY IF THEY CANNOT VERIFY THEIR IDENTITY USING THE “MY SS” PORTAL, not in all cases.

The option to verify identity online still exists.

You should delete this OP, as it is spreading misinformation.

Here’s just one of many more accurate reports:

https://www.wrhi.com/2025/03/new-social-security-rule-in-person-or-online-id-proof-required-198324

The SSA is transitioning to enhanced identity proofing measures, requiring individuals to verify their identity through their “my Social Security” online account or in person at a local office. This shift comes as the agency acknowledges the need to move away from “antiquated methods” of identity verification.

Fuck these assholes trying to scare the elderly with their bullshit.

ETA: The second link in this attempted grift goes to a site called tododisca.com, which states that this applies to "All Social Security recipients" and "...from April, all beneficiaries who register for the first time or have to make a change will have to verify their identity in person at official offices in order to continue receiving monthly payments." The same page also provides useful links to the always helpful "here's how to get your additional $4,000 SS check" scam. Once again, fuck them to hell.
