Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy called the inclusion of EV charging stations social justice while defending his decision to pull them from infrastructure projects.
During a Wednesday morning appearance on Fox Business, Duffy explained to Stuart Varney why he chose to forego the inclusion of charging stations for electric vehicles. He argued that the stations would not be a good use of government spending, saying:
Not only that, they put charging stations into this project, Stuart, Duffy said. We pulled those charging stations out, and what weve done across are the grants that we give. Im not doing green. Im not doing social justice. Were building infrastructure.
The last administration wanted all these green and social justice requirements that drive up the cost of projects. Weve said no more. Were doing roads, bridges, this infrastructure at the southern border; but enough of the side projects. Make the investments. Spend the taxpayer money well. Enough of the green, enough of the social justice. And so, I think were gonna get more for the taxpayer money because were focused the cash on infrastructure, not on social policy or Democrat liberal policy.

(5,403 posts)too "socially conscious." to them, if a thing can be used as a social good, it's an evil thing that must be destroyed. If it's cruel, evil, and abhorrent, it's a social good and they support it. How very Orwellian of them.
