Statistics Canada data shows drop in Canadians making return trips from U.S.

OTTAWA New travel numbers suggest Canadians made fewer return trips from the United States last month compared to the same time last year, with a sharp decline in trips by car.
Statistics Canada says the number of Canadians returning from the U.S. by car was down almost 32 per cent compared to March 2024, the third consecutive month of year-over-year declines.

The agency says Canadian return trips by air from the U.S. were down 13.5 per cent last month compared to March 2024.
Return trips from countries other than the U.S., meanwhile, were up about nine per cent over the same period.

(1,756 posts)for decades with ~80% of his yearly returning customers being Canadian and almost all of them had called to cancel their reservations. They really love the place and this guy and would apologize but said they just couldnt do it because of the Felon in Chief.
This will play out across the United States for the next 4 years with a lot of foreign travelers and the potential ripple affect scares the hell out of me.
This has not been discussed much in the media.

(307 posts)the city is down 10% across the board: hotel bookings, gambling, shows, etc. That's Canadian travellers not going to Vegas. That's Las Vegas's profit, gone.
