US appeals court sides with Trump, clears way to fire thousands of federal workers

April 9 (Reuters) - A U.S. appeals court cleared the way on Wednesday for 18 federal agencies to once again fire thousands of employees who lost their jobs as part of President Donald Trump's purge of the federal workforce but were later reinstated by a judge.

The Richmond, Virginia-based 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said the lower-court judge likely lacked the power to order (1) probationary government employees be reinstated after finding their firings violated regulations for mass layoffs.

It is not a final ruling on the merits. This relates to preliminary relief. Agree that I don't like it, but it is not the whole case.

I was a State employee for 20 years, one of the few perks was, it would take an act of Congress to fire you(apparently not anymore) and the pension.

Getting tired of typing WTF to my family and friends who message me with new headlines.
