Prichard's election blunder

PRICHARD, Ala. (WPMI) — SEE ALSO: Questions arise over Mobile polling place change amid election certification

More than two dozen votes in Prichard's mayoral race were not counted. According to Mobile County Board of Registrars attorney Jay Ross, the Prichard City Clerk's office was a day late delivering provisional ballots - in a tight race decided by a few votes. There were 36 provisional ballots cast on election day, but only four of them were unsealed Tuesday in front of confused observers wondering why they all weren't counted.

"Why weren't the others accepted?" asked one observer.

"You'll have to get that from the board of registrars," replied Prichard City Clerk Jacqueline Niles.
