COLUMBIANA – Lisa Strickland Davis will serve as the first female mayor of the city of Columbiana after receiving 80 percent of the vote to defeat incumbent David Mitchell during the 2025 Municipal Election.

According to unofficial poll results, Davis received 662 votes and Mitchell received 166 votes, or 20 percent, at the polls on Tuesday, Aug. 26. Davis celebrated the night of the election at Blue Agave Cantina with her supporters as they waited for the results to come in.

“I’m feeling both super excited and shocked,” Davis said after the results came in. “I think the people have spoken loud and clear, and the numbers were in our favor.” With November marking the start of her first term as mayor, Davis shared her vision for the city’s future.
