Hoover accepting emergency applications for absentee voting in municipal election

HOOVER, Ala. (WBRC) - The City of Hoover Absentee Election Manager is accepting emergency applications for absentee ballots ahead of the municipal election taking place on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025.

If you are unable to vote at the polling place because of a qualified emergency, you may be eligible to vote by emergency absentee ballot.

You can submit emergency applications for absentee voting on Friday, Aug. 22 and Monday, Aug. 25.

- A medical emergency.
- Required by employer to be unavailable to vote at the polls.
- A caregiver of a person who requires emergency treatment within five days of an election
- Has a family member to the 2nd degree kinship who dies within five days of the election.
