Trump's teleprompter operator is on unpaid administrative leave after allegedly making more than $90,000 by betting on Trump's remarks using the prediction market Kalshi.

Leavitt announced during the White House press briefing that the aide was on leave, saying that Trump was aware of the situation and found it to be "deeply unfortunate and frankly, a disgrace."

Leavitt said the teleprompter operator has been cooperating with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).

"There will be a teleprompter operator tonight, of course, but it will not be the one, unfortunately, in that story," Leavitt said, referring to the president's speech this evening.

Later, responding to another question about the allegations against the aide, Leavitt said that the situation “played out exactly how it should,” noting that Kalshi had notified the CFTC.

"They investigated that, identified the individual, and he will now no longer be working at the White House," she said.
