He/She will be looking for an honorable exit. It's difficult to find honorable exits in dishonorable entrances.
He got the approval of no one. Congress was ignored. He started the war all on his own and now, the rest of the country will have to figure out a way to get us out of this mess.
This morning he is calling for an "unconditional surrender". He is delusional and dangerous. A man that claims to know everything knows nothing.
It's Groundhog Day all over again.

(61,304 posts)The next administration, even with the best intentions, will have to deal with a complete lack of trust.
I suspect the reason Biden could not return us to the JCPOA was lack of support from Republicans and almost more importantly an inability to regain the trust of Iran.
I remember in comments while Kerry, Moniz and others spoke of their negotiations was that a first very difficult step was to establish trust. Kerry was able to convince Iran that if a good deal was verifiably working, no future American government would end it. In fact, no sane American government would do so. Trump was not acting in the US or world's interest .. just his obsession to get rid of all Obama did.
Now, we have the fact that we REELECTED Trump knowing exactly who he is. Before, you could argue he was an aberration that would never happen again. If Biden has difficulty with diplomacy from Trump's actions, imagine what his successor will have and imagine the Secretary of State, like other secretaries, won't have the wealth of experienced staffers.
They should then load a plane with the entire Trump administration and drop their asses over Tehran!!!
