Trump Sparks Firestorm With Map Depicting US Expansion Into Canada, Greenland and Venezuela

Trump's latest Truth Social post revives his boldest expansion proposals yet, putting Canada, Greenland and Venezuela under the spotlight and reigniting global backlash.

President Donald Trump has reignited one of the most controversial themes of his presidency after sharing an edited image that appeared to place Canada, Greenland and Venezuela under the American flag.

Posted on Truth Social, the image showed Trump presenting a map inside the Oval Office to visiting European leaders. Rather than announcing a new policy, the post stitched together several of Trump's long-standing ambitions into a single visual, immediately fuelling debate over whether his territorial rhetoric is becoming more than just political theatre.

While studying that image, I tried to imagine what must have been going through the minds of these "leaders" seated in front of Trump. Trump looked so threatening, and they all seemed so serious. I would have found it difficult to keep from laughing out loud.

12. The leaders probably look serious because they're there to discuss Ukraine.

Here's the original photo from last year's meeting, before Trump posted the edited version:

He can barely turn on a computer, and he has never sent an email in his life.

Someone else did the artwork, and probably posted it on one of the forums - either Xwitter or Truth Social. All he does is "forward" other people's work and then he takes all the credit for it.

He wants to own and control everything in
his line of sight.

In America that works. In the world, not
so much... but he's still trying.

His brand of narcissism requires it. He can't
live or be any other way.

To take your eyes off something he’s doing that he doesn’t want in the news.

The picture isn’t shown, and it’s so full of ads and pop-ups the article is hard to read.

16. Why? To cage all of the Inuit, diverse and indigenous people in Greenland and Canada, and all of Venezuela?

Maybe they found a skeleton on the ranch in New Mexico with Trump's hair clutched in its hand.
