Vance's security detail 'fed up' with hastily arranged personal and family travel requests

Secret Service sources said the Vance family asks included getting their young son to a golf lesson on a military helicopter.

On Thursday last week, Secret Service agents groused among themselves as they prepared to deliver another perk to Vice President JD Vance’s family: join a military helicopter crew to fly his young son to his golf lesson.

The planned trip on Marine Two, the call-sign for the U.S. Marine Corps helicopter that carries the vice president, was canceled at the last minute due to severe thunderstorms and high winds in the Washington, D.C., area that day, according to two people with knowledge of the flight plans. Vance planned to travel with his son on the flight, according to two other administration officials with knowledge of his schedule.

But the Secret Service staff’s complaints about a planned chopper ride for an elementary school student reflects a building morale problem inside the team of agents assigned to shield Vance and his young family, according to the two people and another person familiar with the agents’ frustration.

Agents have shared concerns internally about Vance and his office pressing them for trips and assignments that some agents consider an inappropriate or even unprecedented use of government resources compared to prior vice presidents, they said.

The agents pulled in to protect Vance and his family have also become “fed up” with the last-minute travel demands that Vance and his wife, second lady Usha Vance, frequently place on the security team, according to the two people and an additional source with knowledge of their travel who spoke on the condition of anonymity for fear of reprisals. The Vances are the first family to reside at the Naval Observatory with young children since former Vice President Al Gore and his family, more than 25 years ago.

JD Vance Brags About Cushy New Life as Americans Struggle With Costs

American wages have stagnated, while the cost of living—affected by rising inflation and the unending Iran war—continues to climb. Yet the vice president has not been shy about the fact that he is, comparatively, living very large.

JD Vance joined Dirty Jobs star Mike Rowe’s podcast Thursday to chat about faith, family, and the future of America. But amid the pair’s sprawling conversation, the vice president offered a bit of insight into how his new role has offered him a completely new lifestyle.

“My life is—dude, totally transformed,” Vance said, eliciting laughter from Rowe.

Vance earns a base official salary of $235,100 per year as America’s second-in-command, but of course the accoutrements of his high-powered office provide a litany of other perks.

“I don’t go to the grocery store anymore. People go to the grocery store for me. Most of my meals—like, when I cook a meal—I love to cook, actually. Big baker. I like to cook for my kids as a special occasion, but I don’t have to cook anymore because I have an army of people willing to cook my food,” he continued.

“My life is so weird. I fly around on a 757, no more TSA lines for me and the kids. It’s so weird, but it can become the sort of thing that if you internalize it, you start to become an entitled asshole,” Vance said.

Except this entitled pice of shit was already an asshole.

Jenna Bush Hager forgets key detail about her own margarita-related arrest

In 2001, Hager made headlines several times for some party-girl-style shenanigans while attending the University of Texas at Austin. That February, just a month after her father George W. Bush was sworn in as President of the United States, it was revealed that Hager had asked her Secret Service detail to drive to the Tarrant County jail in Fort Worth. There, Hager and the Secret Service picked up one of Hager's male friends who had spent time in the drunk tank for underage drinking at a Texas Christian University frat party. Quibble with the optics if you want, but that's extremely Real One Behavior.

Then, in April 2001, Hager and her friends were busted for underage drinking on Sixth Street in Austin. Evidently, Hager was given the coolest Secret Service detail ever assembled. According to Texas Monthly, Hager and her friends were allowed to go into Cheers Shot Bar. At the same time, the Secret Service agents sat in a car outside, only to watch an undercover Austin police sting group go in and give Hager a minor in possession charge.

That wasn't the end of it. A month later, in May 2001, Hager (who had pleaded no contest to that MIP charge) was at Chuy's with her twin sister, Barbara Pierce Bush, and a friend. Hager pulled out a fake ID to order a margarita, only to be recognized by waitstaff at the restaurant. The Chuy's manager called the cops on the Bush twins, and both were again cited. Per Texas Monthly, again, Hager's Secret Service detail attempted to try to quell the whole fracas by telling Austin police the twins would leave. But according to a later police report, Chuy's Manager Mia Lawrence later told Austin Police that she wanted the twins to "get into big trouble." Let he who hasn't tried to underage drink at Chuy's cast the first stone.

Already, Hager was an easy mark for tabloids and political reporters alike. In 2000, the National Enquirer published a photo of Hager at UT Austin smoking a cigarette. But because it was the 2000s, and the wild party lifestyle of a Republican president's daughter is the perfect fodder for a media firestorm, the tabloids went nuts. The New York Post's front-page headline called the president's daughter "Jenna and Tonic," and then-First Lady Laura Bush told CNN that "if we never saw their pictures in the paper again, we'd be a lot happier."

“Party girl shenanigans and locker room talk” are republican excuses for illegal behaviors that land the rest of the world in jail and in the punitive court system.

He's not stupid. He knows he doesn't have a chance in Hades in 2028. He'll run, of course. Stranger things have happened. But he knows he's no match against whoever emerges from the deep, Dem field. Even if the brand wasn't destroyed by his boss. Imagine that boring, empty suit matched against Newsom or Kelly, just to name two.

“Entitlement” was a third-rail term, most often used referring to “those people”, carrying the meaning: “somebody's getting something I’m not, and my Congressman says I’m paying for it”.
So… yeah….

It seems to me that the Vance family are not a well organised unit. Personally I can't stand people who are always late, usually unreliable and pay no attention to forward planning. I can avoid dealing with people like this but FFS, this is a high ranking politician.

This manifestation of outward chaos may indicate a disordered, untidy mind and attitude - someone who doesn't know or care that they are inconveniencing others. No wonder he's failed at Iran negotiations. I can't imaging JD paying much attention to detail when it's necessary.
