As fresh health symptom emerges, alarm bells for Trump

A photograph taken at the NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey, earlier this month stopped a lot of people mid-scroll. Reuters photographer Jonathan Ernst captured a close-up of President Donald Trump’s ankles spilling visibly over his shoes during a bilateral meeting, and the image spread fast. The ankles weren’t just swollen. To many observers, they appeared larger than they had looked at any prior public appearance, including photos taken when the same condition was formally diagnosed a year earlier.

That diagnosis, revealed by the White House in July 2025, was chronic venous insufficiency, or CVI – a condition in which damaged valves in the leg veins can no longer efficiently push blood back toward the heart, causing blood to pool in the lower legs. The White House described it at the time as “benign and common.” But the photos from Ankara told a more complicated story, and they arrived alongside a fresh wave of public concern about Trump’s health concerns that reached well beyond his ankles.

The NATO summit, held July 8, 2026, produced more than just photographs. During a press conference alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Trump made three significant verbal errors in under ten minutes: calling Iran “the Islamic Republic of Japan” while speaking next to Zelensky, referring to Zelensky as “President Putin,” then appearing to catch the error and insist he was going to relay reporters’ questions when he spoke to the Russian president later in the day. He also repeated a “tic tac” error – referring to TikTok by that name – which he had also made two days earlier from the White House.

Trump Health Concerns: What the Ankle Swelling Actually Means

One year after being diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, the 80-year-old president’s condition came under renewed scrutiny after photographers captured a close-up of his ankles during the NATO summit in Turkey. CVI occurs when veins become damaged and struggle to send blood back to the heart.

something they chalk up to my exposure to Agent Orange back in the day... ya Zer's THOSE days....

I don't understand why, if this swelling is so common in people with venous and heart problems, no one takes Trumps elephant ankles seriously.

I wouldn't wish death on anyone, even Trump. and I really don't understand why a potentially very dangerous symptom is mostly laughed away

And having an annual checkup every few months.

And getting Compassionate Use access to new medications prior to FDA approval.

They won't come out and honestly say, he has medical problems, they aren't trivial but he can likely live out his presidency with medical support

It's a shame that, along with the continued cover up of his raping children, that this "man's" health is not 'front page news' every day.

He's 80, morbidly obese with rapidly declining cognition - and that is over and above all the swollen ankles and fat mid section that makes a sumo rassler look 'trim.'

Hillary Clinton had a fever & was sick in NYC during the summer of her campaign and it was all the talking heads could consider for a few days (as it related to fitness for office).

President Biden had an unfortunate and notably bad debate performance and the knives came out for him.

Where the fuck is the same level of coverage for donnie?!?

I lack any believable sanctimony or pretense to attempt the "I hope he's hale and hearty even though I hate him route" so I'll just go with, "grilled jalapeno cheese burritos are on the menu for dinner tonight and I'm really looking forward to it!"

for the last several years. There are at least three pundits on YouTube who post this daily. Let me know when he's really dead.
