Check your bathroom: CVS Health recalls 75,000 hemorrhoidal wipes
https://www.yahoo.com/news/us/articles/check-bathroom-cvs-health-recalls-190123136.html

Check your bathroom cabinet, as CVS Health has recalled thousands of medicated hemorrhoidal wipes due to a lack of child-resistant packaging.

The Rhode Island-based retailer issued a recall for more than 75,000 boxes of medicated hemorrhoidal wipes on July 2 because they do not feature child-resistant packaging, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Per the Poison Prevention Packaging Act, the wipes must contain this packaging because they contain lidocaine, which can pose a serious injury or even death to a child if ingested.

As of July 2, CVS was not aware of an injuries related to the recall.

The Pillsbury Doughboy's belly-tickling giggle still lingers for long-trusting fans of the iconic refrigerated and frozen dough brand. But today, the FDA has released a report that 735,840 packages of their popular bread rolls were recalled on June 19 due to what the FDA calls "Potential foreign material (glass)."

Three thousand eighty cases of Pillsbury Bread Rolls "Hard Roll Dough" have pulled, with each case containing a reported 180 units of 2.25-ounce containers, for an apparent total of 554,400 product units.

Cases of Pillsbury Bread Rolls "Kaiser Roll Dough" are reported as 1,260, each containing 144 product units of 2.5 ounces each for a calculated total of 181,400 units.

Products going by similar names on the Pillsbury site suggest the two products were sold into foodservice accounts, or what the site refers to as "BOH operations," with BOH meaning "back of house."

Multistate Advisory: Blueberries Sold at Popular Retailer Recalled Amid Reported E.Coli Illnesses

https://www.yahoo.com/news/us/articles/multistate-advisory-blueberries-sold-popular-181800865.html

On July 6, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) published a recall notice for Frozen GreenWise Organic IQF Blueberries, specifically its 10-oz size. The lot code, which is printed on the packaging, is 60401. The recalled blueberries also come with the Best By Date of February 9, 2028. The FDA noted that "no other lot codes or Best By dates are affected by this recall."

The FDA added that the recalled product was shipped to Publix retail stores throughout eight states, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.
Why are these blueberries being recalled?

The blueberries are being recalled as they may be contaminated with Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC) O145:H28. The FDA explained that this particular type of E. Coli can "cause illness characterized by severe stomach cramps, diarrhea (which may be bloody), and vomiting."

According to Publix, there have been 12 confirmed cases of people reporting stomach illness between May 11, 2026 and June 5, 2026 linked to E. coli O145:H28 infections. The FDA notes there have been four hospitalizations.

The agency notes that most healthy individuals recover within a week, though children, older adults, and people with a weakened immune system can experience more serious symptoms and complications.

I use different frozen fruits when making a smoothie plus always a banana. Frozen fruit makes a smoothie nice and cold and thickens it.

For example, they could be used in pound cake or muffins, even in blueberry pancakes. However I think once they've been cooked at a high enough temperature, the e-coli is killed off. One would hope so anyway.

Like I do. Fresh blueberries go bad before I manage to eat an entire container, so frozen is a great alternative and reduces food waste.
