So let's play a "semi" hypothetically scenario here.
Suppose your 8th grade daughter came home and told you the "Very popular and extremely charismatic principal" of her school was using his position to abuse and assault the girls in the school.
Of course you'd be shocked and appalled.
"How do you know?" would be your first question.
"Because it happened to me, and two of my friends ".
But he's a powerful man and extremely popular so we're going to need more than 3 of you to get him arrested.
"Do you think you can find any more girls to collaborate your accusations? "
I'll try Dad, it might take a while, but let's see what I can find.
5 YEARS LATER.
"Hi Dad, I found more girls that say they were abused by the aforementioned principal ".
Good for you, how many more?
"38,000, but the police think there's many more but refuse to disclose how many more there might have been!"
"38 thousand and the people who could prosecute him won't? "
They said they can't or won't release the rest of the files they have that would prove him guilty beyond any reasonable doubt, because they're afraid of him.
END OF HYPOTHETICAL .
WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN TO THE PRINCIPAL, AND WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN TO THE POLICE THAT WOULDN'T RELEASE THE REST OF THE FILES?
