As a Black man I feel the need to let the DU community into the mindset of people like that Black Republican. People like him are essentially grifters and scammers that will sell out their own people in an effort to secure “influence” and potentially financial gain. He doesn’t believe a single word he says and he knows he is supporting people that want him enslaved but the pull of fake acceptance by those people and a future financial gain or influence is too much to turn down. Look at Candace Owens, she got on that grift train and only got sensible when the money dried up. Thomas is the same way but because of his position the benefits are still flowing. I secretly wish that he will be able to retire from the SC and see how quickly those people turn on him when he can’t do anything for them anymore.

Sadly, this is one of the tragic results of Slavery and Jim Crow and the feelings of never being good enough. Many Black people will never go the Black Republican route or the self hate route but those that do see themselves as better than every other Black person. These people have convinced themselves that when folks degrade Black people that somehow those people don’t mean them. They are shameless and think that their conservative views and co-signing racism will get them a pass. Look at Daniel Cameron. For as much water as he carried for Brianna Taylor’s murderers what did that get him? Disdain from the Black community and the racist folks he was counting on voted for a democrat before voting for him in Kentucky that time he ran for governor and Trump showed his true colors by endorsing his primary opponent for the senate seat.
