The US has left more than 40 African nations without a Senate-confirmed ambassador.

(12,650 posts)I wouldn't put it past this administration to turn this all into a shit show but the normal protocol when there isn't a formal ambassador to a country is they have a senior career foreign services officer acts as the former US representative to that country. They don't have all the powers of an ambassador but can do most functions.

(15,823 posts)Tarzan documentaries when I was a kid. No taxis. Transportation? You swung from tree to tree on vines until you got to where you wanted to go.
Toilets? I never saw Tarzan's bathroom in those movies.
Running water? Well he did have the river... (I believe some of the films were made on the banks of the St. John's river in Florida.)
I wouldn't take the job. Would you?
