In Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD), a "need to destroy things" is typically a manifestation of severe behavioral disinhibition and compulsive urges, not malice. Caused by damage to the frontal and temporal lobes, individuals lose their ability to suppress impulses, control actions, or understand how their behavior impacts others.
