(12,635 posts)as a former Republican he knows the game, the dirty tricks, recognizes Republican BS when it's being shoveled.
Graham Platner, for instance.
That late disclosure and the subsequent Collins' 'concerned, troubled'' reaction was a typical rat-fucking scenario. The woman in question was a political operative who had worked with Collins before. Republicans thought what they could throw was enough to create a feeding frenzy within Democratic and media circles.
It almost worked.
What they forgot were Maine voters who had their BS meters set to high and resented the smear machine. Platner is one of their own and they followed through on having his back.
Wilson also has his ear to Republican romping grounds, can still talk to donors and operatives and knows what they're thinking and seeing. Despite all the GOP happy talk, they know they're in trouble, deep trouble.
Fraud and corruption and accountability. Affordability and quality of life issues. The failed economic policies of Trump/MAGA world.
All negatives for MAGA and Trump. All negatives that need to take center stage leading up to November. If Dems stay on message, control the narrative, we're going to scalp the fascists and their MAGA toadies.
We can win this thing, bigly.
