NORFOLK, Neb. The first round of jeers came just a question into Rep. Mike Flood's first town hall of the year.
It didn't take long for the crowd of about 200 people in Flood's hometown of Norfolk to turn hostile at the event, where the 1st District congressman discussed a range of hot-button issues, from the Iran war to affordable housing.
Flood told attendees he intends to remain focused on expanding affordable housing efforts in Nebraska this session.
Flood said he worked with U.S. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, D-Mo., to craft and introduce the HOME Reform Act of 2025 to streamline housing regulations and strengthen public-private partnerships to bolster affordable housing projects nationwide.

Rep. Mike Flood speaks during a town hall on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at the Johnny Carson Theater at Norfolk Senior High School in Norfolk.
