NY-07: SCS to hold candidate forum Wednesday night

Sunnyside Community Services (SCS) will host a forum Wednesday night for candidates running to succeed U.S. Rep. Nydia Velázquez in New York’s 7th Congressional District (NY-7).

All four candidates running in the district will take part in the forum, including Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso, Council Member Julie Won, Assembly Member Claire Valdez and Vichal Kumar, a public defender and civil rights attorney.

The forum will kick off at 6:30 p.m. at SCS, located at 43-31 39th St., with SCS Executive Director Judy Zangwill set to serve as moderator for the discussion alongside Mitra Kalita, CEO of URL Media and publisher of Epicenter-NYC, a community journalism initiative striving to connect New Yorkers to their communities.

The forum is free to attend, but registration is required to attend the event.
