In a new podcast episode, the HBO host and Democratic senator whine about mean lefties, while giggling at Trumps misogynistic insults and whitewashing his lawlessness.

There are plenty of reasons why Bill Maher and John Fetterman are often praised as rare reasonable liberals by President Donald Trumps supporters and fellow travelers.
The Real Time host and the Democratic junior senator from Pennsylvania both nurse grievances that they have been unfairly mistreated by the left. (Maher recently claimed to have been a victim of soft-canceling because his HBO show has never been awarded an Emmy.) They are both strident supporters of Israels ruling far-right government. And, as evidenced by Fettermans appearance Monday on Mahers podcast, Club Random where the gimmick is that the 70-year-old host openly drinks alcohol and smokes weed they both have a tendency to bend over backward to praise Trump or otherwise whitewash some of his most inexcusable behavior.
Right off the bat, the two invoked a truly tiresome, faux-politically homeless bromide. Maher lamented, Everything becomes a political battle. Everything is just an excuse to say your team is stupid and my team is great. It has nothing to do with anything.
As an example, Maher cited the controversy over Trump building the White House ballroom and parroted the MAGA line that such a construction project is urgently needed after the assassination attempt at the White House Correspondents Dinner last month. Maher described the ballrooms cost as couch money, and Fetterman ascribed the backlash to TDS (Trump derangement syndrome) the abbreviation the lazy brain uses to dismiss any and all criticism of Trump.

(3,000 posts)and replaced Maher's name with Greg Gutfeld and Fetterman's name with Lindsey Graham it would read just like your typical MAGA man conversation. There is nothing liberal about either of these two. They both have made it clear that they like and support the con artist and they like and support what he is doing. They are no different from Gutfeld and Graham in my opinion.

(2,007 posts)Maher is an obnoxious comedian. He was funny on occasion, many years ago. Now hes just a boring scold.
I just wont say what I think about Fetterman. As much I disliked Manchin and Sinema, hes still worse than either of them. The former came from a very red state and still managed to vote for Trumps conviction in both impeachment trials. I couldnt see Fetterman doing that. Sinema was just looking for a way to cash in. Fetterman strikes me as similar.
If hes intending to leave, he should do so quickly. Im not interested in a slow drip political intrigue Schumer at this point should offer him nothing to stay, if he intends to go.
