Virginia Dems are Cowards

Last edited Thu May 14, 2026, 11:28 PM - Edit history (1)

How could Spanberger and state Dem leadership just accept this bullshit ruling from their state Supreme Court? The will of the people was thrown out and they are just going to accept it?

Republicans in Utah stacked their Supreme Court after they disagreed with the ruling regarding the one blue district. Ohio republicans straight up ignored their supreme court and pushed through their unfair maps.

This is why Dems keep losing when it matters the most. They keep playing by the rules while Republicans make up the rules.

I doubt we will flip either chamber of congress this November. If the Dems don’t grow a fucking spine, they will become permanently irrelevant and we will all end up in camps. Sometimes I think they are getting paid to roll over and lose

& it's not just VA dems. There isn't nearly enough outrage from party leaders & congressional dems as a block.

I think we'll flip the house, but only cuz the repubs are soooo awful. If we do, we need a new Speaker, IMO, & a new Majority Leader too, if we get the senate.

There are near 200 Dem Reps and Senators that just go with the flow, and we never hear a peep out of about the shit that is raining down..........

LOL, one of Colorado's U.S. Senators is suddenly, out of nowhere, having a few ads saying "Bad Repubicans". It's particularly funny that we haven't heard word one up until now, about anything.......But now he is bailing out of the U.S. Senate and taking a run at the Colorado governor's spot............Heaven Help us if he gets in to that position, he is not competent to run a pop-stand IMO....

Will Polis run for Senate? We can just move our top few government pieces around on the board.

Earlier this year I counted the dems who I've heard speak out consistently & it was about 25, so your 200 go-with-the-flow dems estimate is about right, IMO. We can't continue to run on "we're better than the republicans." When the party as a whole is quiet about the authoritarianism playing out in our streets, it feeds the meme that both parties are the same.

Neguse is my rep & I like him.

Hickenlooper and DeGette are both just cruising through, along with Bennett because they all have a "D" after their names......

Polis is a very pro corporate DINO.......Polis will probably back Bennett, and in turn Bennet will recommend Polis for the U.S. Senator spot.......cozy..............

De Gette has recently, (for seemingly the first time ever,) is having ads simply saying Republicans are bad, dems are good.
She must be feeling threatened for the first time in Decades.......

Bennett was an absolute disaster as Superintendent of the Denver Public Schools, I think his only claim to fame before running for political offices.......

I told my local Democratic group about a sign seen in WW2 outside a big military armaments plant. It said, "It takes MILLIONS to win a war. To LOSE one takes EVERYTHING YOU'VE GOT."

In this political environment, "playing by the rules" is a loser's game. In this moment, there ARE no rules because the Repuglykans have burned the rulebook and killed the referees. (Or at least put them on their payroll.) We had better think hard about doing same.

eligibility, I believe in Georgia. All the challenger has to do is send an email saying a particular voter is not eligible, even if they just randomly pick that person's name out of a phone book. The challenger doesn't have to provide any evidence. Then that person has to go through the hassle of proving they ARE eligible -- that is if they even find out they've been challenged. Otherwise they can't vote.

It's terrible, but there is a solution -- Democrats just do the same thing. If enough Republican voters aren't allowed to vote because of this, this rule will be scrapped right away.

But what do the Democratic leaders say? "We don't want to challenge anyone's eligibility, because we believe strongly that everyone has the right to vote". So Republicans can run rampant with this and we lose our democracy and end up in a concentration camp because Democrats are unwilling to counter this B.S. because "we have to be nice".

That in a nutshell, is what's wrong with the modern Democratic Party. Instead of understanding the historical moment and realizing this is a 5 alarm fire, they act as if it's 1985, and everything is normal or will return to normal. Too many Democratic leaders just don't get it, and it's depressing and terrifying.

That’s what republicans did in other states. They need to take the gloves off.
