Southfield man charged with hate crime after alleged Antisemitic threats to neighbor, children

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Toby Jacob Rhodes, 54, was charged by Oakland County Prosecutor Karen D. McDonald with a hate crime after alleged Antisemitic threats to his neighbor and to children.

The incident occurred on March 31, when Rhodes allegedly filmed his neighbor’s three children while they were playing outside and reportedly shouted, “All Jews are murderers,” “Always playing victim,” “Kill the Jews,” and “Kill you.”

Court documents revealed that Rhodes also allegedly attempted to block one of the children from riding a scooter on the sidewalk.

A hate crime is punishable by up to two years in prison and/or a $5,000 fine.
