Regardless, the basis of a reflecting pool is that it is dark enough underneath that light doesn't reflect from the bottom of the pool, but instead reflects whatever is seen in light from above. As any swimming pool owner can attest, bright colored sides and bottom cause myriad ripples of light reflections and does not then reflect what is outside of the pool.
