Assassination attempts just like they seem to do with mass shootings. There’s belief by some that coverage can inspire or embolden other mentally ill people to replicate.

Who cares ?
Once he’s gone , joy and happiness will be unleashed and the celebrations will be worldwide and long lasting

The first assassination attempt was at least funny as hell

But what happened is not unprecendented, however it was on a "big stage". Other than that, read up on all the threats over previous administrations.

Trump and MAGA love to milk these events.

Obama faced numerous threats, that didn't even make the news. Including a dirty A-bomb threat. They made a bomb and intended to use it.

And any suggestion that it was staged or that it was allowed to occur for the sake of optics must be attacked and derided and belittled.

Is actually purposely not reported incessantly. At least the feds will withhold updates to keep it off the news.
One of the results from Columbine shooting studies was the realization that constant coverage enabled additional copy cat crimes as the mentally ill yearning for attention were hooked.
They stop coverage in an attempt to limit this behavior.

This kind of thing happened 15 times to Obama and was never called an assassination attempt. It was an incident, and it received more press than it should have.

Someone charging the perimeter on a different floor doesn't count as an assassination attempt. Claiming it is is like claiming a fight in the line to get in a concert was an assault on the lead singer.
