to them in the courts, the Republicans send it as an "Emergency" to their wholly owned subsidiary the U.S.Supreme Court...
and they get a decision, in their favor, the next day......convenient, huh........

...that the proper time to file lawsuits on redistricting would have been before millions of voters went to the polls.

So all I can figure is the current suit was filed to eventually get the case into Federal Court somehow and hope corruption does its job for them.

The RNC won at the trial court:

Feb. 19, 2026: A hearing was held and the court granted the RNC’s temporary restraining order, halting preparation for the special election.

The state Supreme Court granted a stay that allowed the election to proceed:

Mar. 4, 2026: The Virginia Supreme Court paused the trial court’s Feb. 19 order halting preparations for the election and remanded to the trial court to enter final judgment. The special election will move forward with early voting beginning on Mar. 6.

After the election, the lower court voided it:

Apr. 22, 2026: The court declared the legislature’s passage of the proposed constitutional amendment and the referendum unconstitutional.

Then the state Supreme Court agreed to hear it:

Apr. 24, 2026: The Virginia Supreme Court decided to review the case.

It's tough to keep up. And it's even harder for me since my knowledge of the law is sub-standard.
