But I agree, he should not come to the US for a number of reasons.

But he needs to kiss Trump's ass for the British govt.

But so far they have been pimping out the RF to kiss Trump ass.
It has been disgusting to watch.

Many things can be true at one time.

Does the US need Britain’s help in the straight of Hormuz?

If the British wanted to help, which they don’t, could they since most all of their ships are out of commission?

As someone who attended the funeral of my good friend’s 20 year old son who was killed in Afghanistan in Bush’s war of lies, I like that Trump isn’t putting boots on the ground but rather using the power of the purse to force Iran into submission. Without Iran being able to sell oil, that is putting more real pressure on them than boots on the ground wood and saving more Iranian lives.

I have gone with my friend to her son’s grave many times. It never stops being sad and it never stops being a preventable death for him, thousands of American soldiers and hundreds of thousands of people in Iraq andAfghanistan. Bush is a criminal from start to finish.

As do the people of Iran, are they being horribly abused by the Iranian regime? Are they regularly marrying off nine-year-old girls to old men? Did they murder 40,000 of their own people in January alone? Do they regularly hang protesters? Is it OK for me to hope that 90 million people are free from a brutal dictatorship well at the same time still not liking Trump at all? Is it OK for me to want people to be free from abuse and torture more than I hate Trump?

If my friend gets drunk, punches a hole in a wall out of frustration, and says he was trying to get his girlfriend back, I'm not going to credit the motive when evaluating his actions. We (the U.S., I'm an American ex-pat) are doing things in Iran that will deter regime change, not help it. The level of stupidity of our government is stunning. We tried the same damn thing a few months ago and failed to replace the Chavez-Maduro government. People don't rise up once a foreign government starts dropping bombs on them. It's an uphill battle, but the war has made it impossible to imagine at this point.

Charles represents one of our closest allies and it would be awful if something happened to our friend while he was visiting. i don't know why anyone would want to come visit with that abomination in charge, anyway. it would be prime time for some terrorism. What's going to happen on July 4th?

his bránd is in too much doodoo to visit July 4. That is the calculation and the true reason he won’t show. Maybe he should come here for July 1 🇨🇦, we’ll give him a better reception. Our guy (Carney) is riding high, Trumpy’s in the dumpster.

Not if he's going to meet with the POtuS.

No foreign dignitary should lend the trappings of normalcy and honor to the most undignified Piece Of Shit ever to smear our national honor and reputation on the global stage.

As to the comments on whether or not the UK should cancel his visit for political reasons, our (U.S.) failure is on us. It's not even within the power of nations like the U.K., E.U. nations, and Canada to fix this. They're fighting for their own lives, trying to come out of it sovereign and with intact political and economic structures. If that means they employ soft power of flattery and prestige like Macron used to be able to do, and if Trump backs off because he still has the hots for Charles' ex, use the power.
