Was reading about a data center in Pennsylvania that needs 800 megawatts of power dedicated from a nearby nuke plant.

To supply that with solar on a clear sunny day you would need a minimum of 3200 acres of solar and that’s maybe enough to run it 8 hours a day. A few acres of solar on a rooftop might run the lights.

These temperature increases can extend up to 6.2 miles from the facility, impacting surroundings for decades through massive energy usage and heat exhaust".

This just sounds like outrageously bad science and worse governance.

Surely someone in AI could come up with a more minimalistic and elegant experimental strategy over brute force methods.

I seriously wonder about these guys being sold as geniuses.
