Btw Thiel and Epstein worked together in 2016 to rat fuck HRC’s election and in 2024 Thiel used his
A.I. program digital janitor to hide Harris votes that were deleted and or switched by shits like Musk.

US Draft Update: Palantir Urges Universal National Service

This is quite long. Sorry, I forget videos instantly. There are some points here worth saving.

My own opinion?

Got to love Karp's logic.

Why not let the government pay people $36,000/year (est. enlisted) when Palantir needs those billions a lot more.

I don't see Alex Karp volunteering to take up arms, fight wildfires, rescue hurricane victims and so on.
"Tech Bro's" are not supposed to do menial or physically challenging work.
Only to profit from other people's death and destruction.

Now, bring me my slippers and beg for a biscuit.

In one of his universes, once someone - anyone - came of age, they needed to do 2 years service, either full time paid or part time volunteer / internship, with the Government if they wanted the franchise of citizenship.

It could be free college or training in return for 2 years working in a remote clinic or school house, it could be a blind person working in a government lab sorting components by touch, it could be an apprentice union worker doing weekends on a government housing project or taking care of the elderly. Or working day care/being a pool of single parents supplying mutual daycare services. Or delivering commissary supplies to government facilities, spending your weekends helping poor people with their finances and taxes...
Or being part of a volunteer military.

Basically, unless you were physically unable to do anything, you had to do something for two years to be considered "a citizen" rather than a disabled dependent - or stateless resident.

If you were reasonably capable but didn't want the right to vote, or access to single payer health care, SSI/SSDI, or any other government subsidy, you were free to live anyway you wanted to. You still had to pay taxes. You were entitled to emergency services, but anything past getting out of the danger, you're on your own.
Don't call 911, or try to take someone to court for cheating you, or try to get any government services to help you improve your lot, until you completed your two years. Whether you're a dirt farmer or child of a billionaire Bitcoin financier. 2 years public service.

Anyway, not going to happen because of idiots like Thiel and Musk carving out exceptions due to their rich white asses - but sure sounds like a great idea for other people to do, right?

I served in the AF for 28 years, from 1975 to 2003, and mandatory service or the draft isn't what this country or the military needs. What you get with both is a lot of unfit, unqualified, overweight, poorly educated people, and people who wouldn't want to be in the military straining the ability of the military to perform its missions.

These people will take up more time requiring training, retraining, supervision, etc.., than the officers and NCOs have time to devote. Additionally, the monetary costs of this would be astronomical considering the military's infrastructure isn't built of this. Here are some of the problems I see:

The pay for an E-1 is currently $2,407.20 per month ($28,886.40 per year) which means just the pay for the military would add billions to the defense budget.

Where do you house all these people? Junior enlisted personnel are required to live, in most instances, on-base unless they are married. Even paying them a housing allowance to live off-base would be huge and it would be even higher for married personnel who get a larger housing allowance.

How much will it cost to feed them? Junior enlisted, who make up the bulk of the military, would have to eat in the dinning hall or receive a subsistence allowance for them to buy their own food. If they're married, they receive an extra amount to help cover the food costs for their family.

The military healthcare system is designed to handle a relatively healthy population since the military doesn't take those with serious or long-term health issues. Adding these people the system would overload the system and degrade it putting readiness in danger.

After their service, they would be eligible for VA care if they had a service connected disability furthering straining that system.

There are other problems but IMO, those are the biggest ones.

While is seems like a good idea to people like Palantir, take it from someone who made the military a career having mandatory service or the draft isn't needed in peacetime. Even in wartime, a draft requires time to process, train, and deploy troops and in today's modern area of warfare having large numbers of troops doesn't equate to victory or success on the battlefield. Ukraine has proved this with Russia.

I really think that these "tech boys" ideas are more about cutting back the population, especially of young idle men. Similar to what was done during the Crusades. Send them off to some pointless war and hope they don't come back.

Hmmm. This sounds like a Space Command project. Don't even really have to worry about providing living quarters to those selected - it'll be a one way trip.

... that this fucking weasel uses names he boosted from the works of J.R.R. Tolkien on his tools of social manipulation, such as Palantir. It's fitting in a way, since the original palantir was a malign tool of the unspeakably evil Sauron. Would that we could cast Thiel into Mount Doom.
Why can't these scumbag billionaires just wallow in their wealth, instead of taking such delight in fucking with the lives of working people just to amuse themselves?
