Despite Trump embracing Hungarian 'strong man' Viktor Orban, he lost in a landslide. After his loss, his opponent Peter Magyar revealed that Orban was using grifted Hungarian govt. money to fund CPAC.
If you think that was a big reveal, wait until it's revealed that Trump was (probably) funding Orban's re-eleciton campaign with U.S. govt. money. I think that's a strong possibility based on the reaction of one of Trump's most notorious shills, Sebastian Gorka, to being asked about this type of operation in a BBC interview.
Notorious interview bully, and Popeye nemesis Sebastian Gorka was asked by a BBC reporter whether Trump attempting to influence EU policy included donating money to certain European (ie-Hungarian) political parties. In true Gorkan style, he tried to scare off the interviewer by bullying her with a loud voice and big words. Unfortunately for him, the reporter had eaten her spinach, and wasn't going to give up the fight.
Watch Gorka's reaction to the question at 9:36. A simple 'no' would have stopped the argument, but he refused to say 'no.'
With new leadership in Hungary, I think it's very likely that we'll find out that Trump was funneling U.S. govt. money to Hungary, to try to get Viktor Orban re-elected.

(23,396 posts)Although ultimately some $2 billion were actually disbursed to help the narco-linked Milei and his far right party in the midterms (with Cheeto's threats of tanking the peso doing the rest), Trump famously made up to $20 billion available.
Of our money.
To say nothing of the $45 billion he forced the IMF to lend to his kleptocrat pal Manci back in 2018-19 (to no avail - since Macri lost anyway).
Cheeto sees taxpayer money as his slush fund - and the Chicken Supremes are just fine with that.

(5,327 posts)Give Magyar some time. It should all be exposed. There were reports that Orban's Hungarian Foreign minister was destroying documents on and after election night.
