https://studyfinds.com/summer-getting-longer/Scientists Confirm Summer Is Expanding Faster Than Previously Thought
In A Nutshell
Summers across the midlatitudes, including most of North America and Europe, now last roughly 30 days longer than they did in the 1960s.
Since 1990, inland areas have been gaining more than six extra days of summer per decade, a rate up to 57 percent faster than earlier estimates.
Total summer heat accumulation is growing more than three times faster than it did during the 19611990 baseline period.
Summer is also arriving and ending more abruptly, leaving less time for ecosystems, infrastructure, and people to adjust.
A new study published in the journal Environmental Research Letters adds evidence to a growing body of research suggesting summer is growing longer, arriving more abruptly, and piling up heat at an accelerating rate.

(718 posts)1. This jibes with my experience in my region since the 60s.
I was just talking with my neighbor anecdotally about the seeming increased length and abruptness of summer. Not that is good news, but it makes me feel less old and cranky and more old and astute.

(10,960 posts)3. This is also what I am seeing.
I remember in our region (mid-Atlantic) when fall came in September. Now its October before we start to see any kind of seasonal cool down.

to help Elon get to Mars, so this doesn't really matter.

Summer isnt 30 days longer because what constitutes seasons has little to do with the weather. It is about the position of the earth.
