by Crumb The 1st and Netanyahu regarding the ceasefire and Lebanon is pretty apparent. People were making the excuse of "negotiators not getting the translations right" on the radio this morning. A good chance that the US side said OK to including Lebanon and gave assurances that they would make Netanyahu go along.
Netanyahu was always going to go his own way and people who say he never wanted a ceasefire of any kind are probably on the right track. The rabid right wing in Israeli government is pushing the region to the point where they are guaranteeing themselves many decades of revenge attacks by the people who survive. The world leaves them no choice since the world can't show any real example of placing real and painful penalties on the Israeli government for any of their actions over the many decades.
So the ships aren't moving and the huge attacks on a defenseless Lebanon roll on. Netanyahu says the attacks are because it's a violation of the Lebanon ceasefire about Hezbollah and the failure of Lebanon to have them completely disarmed already. OK by that reasoning if violations of the ceasefire means deadly attacks and civilian deaths are justified then what should be done regarding all of the Israeli violations of the ceasefire? The truth is nothing is/has been/will be done regarding any of the Israeli violations and other actions.
The West, especially the US, keeps showing the same deception and gutlessness as always and it has never been more obvious and out in the open that Israel says jump and the US asks how high. This won't end until Netanyahu lets it end and that isn't in the cards for a long time. He is going to basically annex a huge amount of Lebanon. He's moving to hold on to even more of Syria and the Jordanians are fooling themselves if they don't take seriously the rabid right wingers in Israel who have been talking about taking the East Bank as well as the West Bank.
It appears that the major effect of the Abraham Accords has been to sideline a good deal of the opposition to Israeli aggression in taking territory by force. So here we are and no end in sight while the killing in Gaza goes on as well. The world is not going to get anywhere trying to reason with two lunatics with an unquenchable amount of greed and an overwhelming lust for killing.

Music helps, too. I watched "The Pianist" quite a few times for the music, and for the fortitude.
