i thought it was the voter i.d.
it is, but there's also this thing about the federal government getting voter rolls and purging them every month and not telling us when we get wiped from the voter roll so it's a big surprise when we get to the polls and try to vote.
if i heard about that before, i forgot. and that's pretty fucking important so i probably would have remembered.

The SAVE Act she discusses in this clip is, as she says, blatant voter suppression by Republican filth. It has to be stopped.
As if we needed another reason to despise those fucking traitors on the Dark Side of the Aisle.

(36,930 posts)so i googled.
ai overview says this:
Based on recent fact-checking reports, the claim that Speaker Mike Johnson was caught on a "hot mic" saying "that would be huge for us" in reference to the SAVE America Act (regarding voter turnout) is misleading.
The Context: The video, which circulated widely in March 2026, was actually an edited clip of a conversation between Mike Johnson and Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill.
What was actually said: The conversation was about an upcoming local election in Louisiana (March 2025) and a high, unexpected turnout for a special amendment vote (anticipating 18% rather than 12%). Johnson commented that an 18% turnout for a local amendment vote would be "huge," not that voter suppression was "huge".
The Misrepresentation: The viral video falsely merged this conversation with the SAVE America Act to suggest the Speaker was admitting to wanting lower voter turnout to secure a Republican victory.
so thanks for pointing this out. i'm gonna try to edit that out from my op
