But today we have

...and I'm thinking "MAYBE BY NOVEMBER, America WILL HAVE had ENOUGH.

(23,215 posts)...and I don't want to go to the "what's the worst Iran could do in retaliation" doomsday scenarios, but MAYBE America will get to the point where they say "ENOUGH," and "maybe" Senators will decide that not getting re-elected is worth it to bring down Trump.
I'm just not convinced his getting away with this for another 2-1/3 years is still "a sure thing."

(23,192 posts)Although the odds of Dems retaking the senate improve daily, I think getting to 67 seats, or convincing enough republican senators to join Dems to convict, is still a long shot.

The only way I think it could happen is if there is a huge downturn in the economy and people are being personally affected.
But in this case Trump might end up resigning and possibly fleeing the country.

They fear that removing a president from office via the impeachment process will undermine the Imperial Presidency and weaken unitary executive dogma, preventing future Republican presidents from acting as authoritarian despots and dictators.
