Effects in Asia of the dire Straights of Hormuz:

https://toad.social/@wdlindsy/116229890000327997

"Whole regions in the Philippines—including the capital city of Manila—just forced employers to institute a four-day workweek instead of a five-day workweek specifically to try to save energy.

Gas stations in Vietnam have started to run out of fuel. …

What was all this for?

'We’re doing this for the other parts of the world.'

I’m sure they’re delighted with that."

I will tweak it a little to, “If you elect a clown to be President, don’t be surprised at the circus that follows”.

They have been impacted by this. I can see them saying to the mad king this is over and try to bring, at least a fragile peace to the region. It may be a pinitol moment in history, the emergence of s new biggest superpower. I know I'm being a little simplistic.

Won't be them till they have the ability to project power anywhere on the globe.
Currently they can only threaten their neighbors.
