Does Trump's acuity problems go back to his first term? and are getting worse.
Here is a video from the first term.
He uses "oranges" instead of "origin" twice in a row in regard to Russian investigation. A clear malapropism.
He has difficulty saying the word; then he defines it by saying "beginnings of the investigation" and is able to say "origin" then.

(49,142 posts)That was before I realized how messed up the entire family is. I'd never paid any attention to him before he began campaigning, so it was shocking to me that his family, GOP leaders and GOP voters could sit through any of his speeches and take him seriously.
Now here we are.

This man will always sound ignorant because he is convinced he knows-it-all, he can never be wrong about anything ever, he is motivated by instinct rather than logic, and he is the smartest person in history.
The problem with knowing everything is that you can never learn anything.
