Yet another Trump violation of the law

The US is strictly prohibited from assassinating foreign leaders by Executive Order 12333, in force since 1981, which bans government employees from engaging in or conspiring to engage in assassination. While this order prohibits political assassination, it does not prevent military action or "targeted killings" in self-defense against imminent threats.

Of course they will claim:

Targeted Killing vs. Assassination: The U.S. distinguishes between illegal political assassinations and "targeted killing" of military or terrorist leaders (e.g., Gen. Soleimani) to prevent imminent threats, which it justifies under national self-defense, which, in this case, is complete BULL SHIT!
