General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI'm a volunteer for my county's Democratic Party here in ruby-red Montana, and I'm helping out with one of our
Democratic candidates' campaign to get elected to the Montana House. Does anyone know if we can talk about our candidate and ask for Act Blue donations here on DU? Our candidate is in the process of getting his campaign website set up and it will be linked to Act Blue for donations. Once his website is live, I would love to spread the word about him here on DU and ask for donations, but I don't want to violate DU rules.
Any advice/suggestions will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

(31,527 posts)Let me repeat - - IN KALISPELL MONTANA.
The blue wave that is coming is real. I was surprised national media didnt sniff out the story and pick it up because if Kalispell is electing Democrats . . .
Keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle folks, and buckle up!
Here is Omaha Steves pinned thread. https://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=18885532

(2,623 posts)and address it to him??? Or do I find one of his posts and send him a message? I'm not up on all the technical in's and out's on DU!
And I did post in the Montana forum, where I got "red'd" but no responses yet. So I thought I would ask in "General," too.

(12,984 posts)You can ask OmahaSteve to create a DU-specific actblue page for your candidate and add it to his pinned list. That would enable you to specifically track donations from DUers.
You can also post your candidate's actblue link with a pitch for contributions. And if you post news about your candidate in the General Discussion or MT forum, include the donation link and a little pitch.
BTW, your post inspired me to make a $25 contribution to the MTDems and encourage others to give what they can.

Building our State Democratic Parties is CRITICAL, particularly in the so-called "red states." County and State Democratic Party organizations are the ones on the ground. They are connected to the communities. The stronger the infrastructure, the better. And that infrastructure is a permanent asset that can be deployed in support of Democratic general election candidates.
Here is a great discussion with Eric Croft, Chair of the Alaska Democratic Party that makes the unique benefits of strengthening state parties clear.
