Republicans Dragged Hillary Clinton Back Into the Spotlight. They’re Going to Regret It

https://www.thedailybeast.com/republicans-dragged-hillary-clinton-back-into-the-spotlight-theyre-going-to-regret-it/

If you’ve noticed Hillary Clinton everywhere again, it’s not because she has launched a comeback tour. It’s because Republicans still just cannot quit her. Despite the fact that she is not mentioned in the “Epstein files,” House Oversight Chair James Comer has subpoenaed her to testify today. (Her husband, Bill Clinton, will testify tomorrow.) It seems Republicans believe that Clinton can provide a distraction—or at least a new punching bag—in the scandal that has dogged the Trump administration for months.

They will surely use the closed-door deposition to rehash and revive as much Hillary hate as they can, regurgitating the greatest hits from 2016 and beyond. And they’ll certainly air all their attack lines publicly right afterwards.

Still, in forcing Clinton back into the spotlight, Republicans may have accidentally handed Democrats a gift.

Clinton has largely kept a disciplined distance from the churn of politics since her presidential run a decade ago (aside from carefully curated moments, like her speech at the 2024 Democratic National Convention). Though supportive of a variety of organizing efforts through her Onward Together initiative, she did not try to become a resistance mascot. She has not inserted herself into every Trump controversy.

will leak select, edited sound bites.

I hope the Democrats are ready with responses to whatever the republicans might say.

I don't think that Congress can prevent her from discussing her testimony, and I expect to see her on all the late night programs within the next week.

It is not as if she would be betraying any classified information. She isn't mentioned in the files. She can't recall ever meeting Epstein. She says she was never on him plan, his island, or any of his houses. IN short, there is no purpose for calling her, and she is surely free to discuss all of that publicly.

Embarrassing himself with his toothless
inquisitions .
His time would be better spent on doing the actual job of improving the lives of his constituents instead of being Trumps fluffer.

I know. That’s just delusional thinking, right?

Because, apparently, the wives of men mentioned in the Epstein files are fair game.

She'll eat them alive and they don't want anyone to see their humiliation. But of course, they just HAD to subpoena her just to harrass her..

Apparently Bobert broke the rules of a closed hearing, and sent a picture of her testifying to "Benny Johnson" a Texan RW "influencer". Who breathlessly published it. According to NYT Hillary halted the deposition then...
