(7,206 posts)Listening to mic'd up players during games, you'll hear it quite often as in "C'mon, boys, let's go!" or other phrases encouraging better play.
Yes, these are adult men. Whether men or boys, nothing excuses the bad behaviour.

(131,253 posts)"boys" in many areas to excuse horrible behaviour, often sexual. We have all seen it. "boys will be boys". . One glaring example that I noticed years ago was about the murdering menendez brothers, referred to frequently as "boys", when they were, in fact, adults.

None are kids. They are all grown and responsible for their actions.
They make it sound as if they would get sent to Juvey if arrested.
They all need to experience the REAL world!

Jake Guentzel now plays with the Tampa Bay Lightning as his regular day job. But he spent 8 years playing for the Pittsburgh Penguins, helping the team win 2 Stanley Cups. The other players who skipped the White House visit were Brock Nelson, Kyle Connor, Jackson LaCombe and Jake Oettinger.
