"Amid Mass ICE Arrests, Trump Pardon Recipient Juan Orlando Hernndez Given Special Treatment"

This is the headline to an article from "ProPublica" dated 02/18/26 with a byline from Keri Blakinger. It turns out that he had an ICE-American Gestapo detainer for his arrest once leaving custody but "somehow" the Bureau of Prisons personnel moved heaven and earth in the middle of the night to get DHS to quash that. But the special treatment went even further. The article notes that most people get released from the West Virginia prison with a cheap bus ticket etc. but Hernandez got whisked to the Waldorf-Astoria"

"But for Hernández, prison officials activated a four-man tactical team, paying at least three of them overtime to drive him to the luxury hotel in Manhattan, according to government records and law enforcement sources. A standard room there costs more than $1,000 per night. Stabile declined to comment on where Hernández stayed but said the government did not pay for it."

But it gets even more dicey. According to the article:

" Before he left, Hernández was allowed to use the captain’s government phone to talk to the federal prison system’s deputy director, Joshua Smith, who was convicted in a drug trafficking conspiracy before Trump pardoned him in 2021."

Yes you read that correctly. The article is indicating that the Deputy director of the BOP was convicted of drug trafficking and got a pardon from Crumb the 1st in 2021. So maybe the Smith and Hernandez call was discussing.........................? Oh but what would shady and corrupt goings on be without an appearance by Roger Stone?

The article notes that Stone received a 4 page letter about Hernandez and forwarded it to Crumb The 1st:

"Eventually, Stone took on a more direct role in advocating for clemency when he gave Trump a four-page letter Hernández had written to the U.S. president, asking for a pardon and making the case that his conviction was a “political persecution” by the Biden administration. In a text message with ProPublica, Stone said he had received the letter from a journalist who’d gotten it from the family. He emphasized repeatedly that he was not compensated for his involvement."

Of course the fine upstanding citizen named Roger Stone has a rock solid history with the truth and so he should be believed.
