Look around and observe. A sub group of almost humans have put themselves in upper class and are now demanding instant service from people they consider beneath them. (anyone in the service industry from wait staff, clerks through airline personnel.) Members of that sub group will board a plane, find out a brown or black skinned person will be sitting next to them and demand another seat. They are rude and ignorant and many of them wear red caps on their heads or T-shirts emblazened with flags the ettiquette of which they have never learned. They all have one thing in common. They idolize the orange one.

My county requires masks in medical settings for all staff, patients, and hangers on. (THANK YOU TO THE COUNTY). I belong to Kaiser Permanente HMO. Part of our membership consists of an agreement to follow the rules.
I think unmasked people within the facilities should simply be ignored; the same way they are ignoring the prominent signs on the way in reminding them they MUST wear masks.
I witnessed exactly that in the pharmacy the other day as an idiot was loudly complaining about having waited for an hour. Someone finally told him to get a clue, and fulfill his agreement to follow the rules. He didn’t ask which rules? He knew.

For the most part, we have a diverse and decent membership from all walks of life. This just doesn't happen. Usually.

I worked for for three decades had an absolutely spineless, or maybe they agreed with the patients, administration. Sometimes we would have patients who didn’t want a nurse or nurse aide of a particular ethnicity, didn’t want a male nurse, etc. Administration absolutely never backed an employee up on anything whatsoever so it was generally agreed that if a patient who was prejudiced against a certain group didn’t have to interact with someone of that group it was all for the best. It was unusual for them to ask for a particular "classification" of doctor but it did occur. One time a patient insisted on a Black doctor. There wasn't a Black doctor in the e.r. that day. So we had a Tamil doctor see the patient. He was very athletic and spent a lot of time playing soccer in the Dallas sun. His skin was much darker than the patient's skin. The patient had absolutely no understanding that his "Black" doctor was as Caucasian as the physician assistant of Norwegian descent. We had a lot of Malayali staff members and very frequently we had patients get upset that they didn't speak Spanish. We had Muslim nurses in hijabs and patients often thought that they were sisters.

I work in either. You did the right thing, and I’m sorry you had to deal with that.

People quit caring about manners sometime around COVID and it never recovered. Always been racists but they use to stay closeted with the blatant stuff, so I guess we lost that too. I really don’t want everyone’s authentic them. I prefer liars with manners sometimes so I can just do my job and live life.

They need to get Dr. Oz or Ben Carson to start up MAGA only hospitals and medical centers around the US of A where these folks can go without any concerns of those "damn ferinners". Only white male doctors and only female nurses in white dresses and hats, no insurance - only cash up front. If you get cancer they give you daily prayer vigils and horse paste. No masks in surgery, no anesthesia, no antibiotics, no vaccines, no pills except vitamins and Jesus. No ERs because life and death is only up to God.

Once you sign up for the MAGA hospital you are put on the list ineligible for treatment at one of those godless commie fake doctors who hate Jesus and pump everyone full of poison.
