Two key Senate Democrats have launched an inquiry after a ProPublica investigation revealed this week that a White House official had intervened on behalf of his former legal clients pro-Trump influencer Andrew Tate and his brother during a federal investigation.
On Thursday, Sens. Richard Blumenthal and Gary Peters sent letters to the White House and the Department of Homeland Security asking for a full accounting of the officials activities, calling his actions a brazen interference with a federal investigation.
ProPublica reported this week that the official, Paul Ingrassia, told senior DHS officials to return electronic devices seized from the Tate brothers when they arrived in the U.S. in February. Ingrassia made clear the request was coming from the White House, according to interviews and records that ProPublica reviewed.
The Tates are facing sex trafficking accusations in three countries. Ingrassia, who has served as White House Liaison to DHS and to the Department of Justice, was part of a legal team that represented the pair before he joined the White House. Ingrassia had been President Donald Trumps nominee for the Office of Special Counsel, but the administration withdrew his name after Politico reported he had sent a series of racist text messages to other conservative activists. (His lawyer raised doubts about the authenticity of the texts but said even if the texts are authentic, they clearly read as self-deprecating and satirical humor.) Ingrassia has since been offered a job at the General Services Administration.

(27,848 posts)Ive only been here 21 years and have not achieved executive status.
Parkman stated that he posted his video about this business with the handhelds six hours prior to my opening the thread which was very early this A.M.
He then stated that this was breaking news. I can only post what I read or hear from otherwise reliable sources.

(105,258 posts)You're going to make me open it, aren't you? I have no idea what the "business with the handhelds is", or who "Parkman" is. A search for "handhelds" with "Parkman", "Trump" or "Tate" brings up nothing.
At least tell us how many minutes of video we have to sit through before the video gets to the point. But a headline is normally associated with news.

(27,848 posts)hysteria, so if I post a headline/Subject like I did here, I feel that its very worthwhile. If someone doesnt want to open it on principle, well, thats his or her prerogative, as is any other decision you may make utilizing your computing device.
And additionally, perhaps if you dont know who Pakman is, maybe a watch or two might convince you that hes worthwhile. Or not. Up to you of course. As everything is to anyone over 18.

(105,258 posts)And, under pressure, "handhelds". What that fuck is that supposed to mean? What has it to do with Trump and Tate?
'Pakman' (not 'Parkman' now) is a YouTuber who uses yellow arrows to point at people. That is not worthwhile. I'm glad you hold yourself is such high regard that a "watch this right fucking now!!!" title should be enough for everyone to follow your advice.

(23,923 posts)are adopting the huge yellow letters and arrows. I felt like you a couple of months ago; I'm not opening that crap with headlines full of hyperbole.
I don't know if it has become an automatic thing YouTube does when posting videos or what, but it is prevalent enough that I've conceded. Just wanted to interject that little tidbit.
