Our Union endorsed Joe in the 1988 Presidential election, I voted for him in the primary in Pa.
Go back in my archives and look at what I said about Joe, my posts said that I believed Joe was our best president since FDR. Joe was a president for the people.
These are Joe's fantastic accomplishments when he was president; from Wiki:
"As president, Biden signed the American Rescue Plan Act in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent recession. He signed bipartisan bills on infrastructure and manufacturing. Biden proposed the Build Back Better Act, aspects of which were incorporated into the Inflation Reduction Act that he signed into law in 2022. He appointed Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court of the United States. In his foreign policy, the U.S. reentered the Paris Agreement and enacted the New Atlantic Charter. Biden oversaw the complete withdrawal of U.S. troops that ended the war in Afghanistan, leading to the Taliban seizing control. He responded to the Russian invasion of Ukraine by imposing sanctions on Russia and authorizing aid to Ukraine. During the Gaza war, Biden condemned the actions of Hamas as terrorism, strongly supported Israel, and sent limited humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. A temporary ceasefire proposal he backed was adopted shortly before his presidency ended."
I have nothing but love and gratitude for our former Senator and president.
I hope this sets the record straight for how I feel about Joe.

(266 posts)I think history will prove this man was phenomenal. Following a pandemic that was poorly handled by his predecessor, he got a vaccine-distribution network up and running and assuaged many of the fears of the American people. He followed this up with people-focused legislation that, I believe, literally saved our economy. Sadly, Joe had a messaging problem. (If only Gavin Newsom's quick-response social network team had been available back then, we would not be saddled with the President of Pedophilia and Greed today.) I won't live long enough to see how history presents Joe Biden, but will try to educate my grandkid how decent and competent this President was, so he can pass along the stories to his just-born daughter.

(527 posts)Joe Biden is a good man! He's been unfairly criticized and chastised by those who love nothing more than to criticize their opponents. They're bullies, brats, self-impressed egomaniacs - and more.
I'm not saying I've ALWAYS agree with everything Biden's said and done over his 50-plus years of government service. But then, if I had, I would BE Joe Biden! People are allowed, indeed encouraged to voice their opinions, objections, and even their approval of any and all persons in politics (even of Donald Trump!).
I don't know what America's become. It's heartbreaking and beyond sad to see how childish, narrow-minded, judgmental, self-serving and vindictive so many people now are toward their fellow human beings. Or maybe they always were, and I failed to notice it before.
We as a nation have lost whatever thread of compassion and decency we once had.

(88,591 posts)A man of principles - sincere, honest, compassionate, and all about public SERVICE. Imagine having had that in the Oval Office, even so briefly!
Theyll all slobber over him after he passes, ESPECIALLY those who gave him nothing but trouble. Too many of em will carry on about how wonderful they always knew he was and how oh yeah, they believed in him from the very start, and blah-blah-blah. Phonies and conniving backstabbers, all.
Thatll actually be fun to watch.
