Trump's 'Release the Files' Ploy Is

exactly that.. a bullshit ploy (imo).

Especially seeing as how TRUMP HIMSELF can order the files released immediately, without Congress as pointed out on today's World News Tonight broadcast (ABC).

Besides, he does everything ELSE without Congress, so why now?

My theory is, he's (for whatever reasons unknown) become convinced he'll NEVER be presented with such a bill to sign.

And if (by some stretch) he is, and vetoes it, they'll never override it.

But for now, he can at least pretend to be in support of it.

2. His ego can't stand losing that vote. And he KNOWS he's losing that vote.

They tried to coerce MTG, Bobo, and Mace and struck out. The discharge petition has the signatures, which also means there are enough votes to pass. It is going to pass. The vote itself is just a formality, albeit a necessary one.

So how to cope? How to avoid that psychic pain of being dominated, of losing? By adopting the winning position, of course. Now, ta-da!, he isn't a loser. He's a winner! He won! He won! See!? Not like some losing loser who loses. No, a winner! A winner who won!

Allows him to get ahead of the whole debacle. As if releasing the files was his idea all along.

3. Massie thinks Trump will use Bondi to say the investigations she just started prevents release of the docs.

There's long standing DOJ rules that docs that are part of an ongoing investigation cannot be released.
