Trump's position reversal on Epstein files

Caveats...

AI Overview

The Epstein Transparency Act allows for the withholding of certain information from public release, such as victims' personal details, materials depicting child abuse or death, or information that could jeopardize an ongoing federal investigation or national security. However, it explicitly forbids withholding information solely due to embarrassment, reputational harm, or political sensitivity.

Bondi will have a lot of latitude in deciding what information can be withheld...any information referencing Trump could "be under investigation."

She ordered SDNY to investigate various people but none of them were Trump. Plus, since she closed the Epstein file in July by saying there was no evidence that would justify charging anyone else, she would have to acknowledge that there is new evidence which does justify bringing charges against other people, including Trump.
