I'm watching the PBS series "The American Revolution" by Ken Burns. So far it is wonderful...

Maybe this series will inspire some to work against our present King George, Donald Trump...he is just as evil as that King was and deserves to be opposed in every way...

with all the added facets of human interaction and psychology,

He has a singular method and style.

Only have vague recollections of learning about it in school - memorizing a few dates, core issues. What wasn't covered were the complex interactions between native Americans, global mercantilism, slavery, and immigration. And also the length of the Revolution.

Magnificent production with so many lessons for us today.

This was, very largely, what the war was about.

They could have mentioned that George III exchanged letters with one of the NA leaders, addressing him as a sovereign in co-equal standing.

9. Another point: it showed that there will be pain if you're going to stand up to an established force.

20 years that I never learned in school. I feel like a lot of our old history books were white washed.

This series and everything Ken Burns does opens up history to the truth.

What I was noticing last night episode 1 was they talked a lot about wanting freedom they showed a black man basically saying where is mine? Washington, a lot of the leaders had slaves.
